PC Discount: Freeplay Energy

Dear Peace Corps2 Yahoo Group,

I have arranged a deal for PC Volunteers. PCVs can get a sweet deal on two Freeplay Energy products: the Lifeline radio and the Indigo LED Lantern. These products were developed for many of the conditions that PCVs will face during their service namely: lack of power, rugged conditions, lack of communications and lack of electricity. This has been graciously been made available through the Freeplay Foundation (freeplayfoundation.org/) and the Dixie Sales Company, their North America distributor.

The goals of the Freeplay Foundation are complementary to many aspects of Peace Corps service. They aim to:

* facilitate sustained access to information and education for the poorest of the poor, especially children, women, refugees and the disabled.

* raise awareness of the role of radio broadcasting and communication in developing countries, disaster areas and regions of conflict.

* research opportunities where appropriate and alternative sources of energy can be applied to improve the lives of people in developing communities, especially children living on their own.

* seek sponsorship to initiate and support humanitarian communication initiatives.

This is discount is substantial: Lifeline radio: US$42 per unit

Indigo Lantern: US$23.85 per unit

To get these discounts, you need to contact:

Penny Thornton
Toll Free: 866-526-2826
pthornton@dixiesales.com

You need to fax her a copy of your invitation letter. You scan and email it to her as well.

This is one hell of a discount for PCVs. E-mail me with stories to tell about how they work in the field. Also remember to pay it forward.

Best of luck,

Hey, thanks for sharing the deal with the rest of us! I'm leaving for Ethiopia in October, so I'll definitely be investing in one of those lanterns.
